Week three: Ethics and Social Responsibility

Smashbox Cares:

Smashbox cosmetics is an extremely ethical and caring organization! In 2005, Dean and Davis Factor created a foundation called Smashbox Cares. It primarily is built around giving back to the community and helping to make the world a better place. Smashbox currently supports many charities such as The Rainforest Foundation, The Covenant House of California, and The Culver City Fire Department Holiday Toy Drive.

Children’s Miracle Network:

Smashbox donates a portion of proceeds of the wish holiday collection to the Children’s Miracle Network, which is a non-profit network that provides care and invests in research for saving the lives of millions of sick or injured kids. 

Hollywood Arts:

Smashbox helps raise money for Hollywood Arts, which is an organization that uses the arts to empower and educate homeless young adults. They help jump start their lives by providing classes in the arts and music as well as supplying job training.

Moral and Ethical Products:

Smashbox cosmetics doesn’t just sell us their stuff to make profit, their main objective is to PLEASE us! So when Dean and Davis started the business they really tried to create products that would satisfy ALL our wants and needs.

Of course we want makeup that makes us look like celebrities, but lets get real... who really knows what were smearing on our faces!? Well worry NO MORE! Smashbox cosmetics believes in a healthy lifestyle, and with their products you can look fabulous without damaging your skin! Everything they produce is non-irritating, clinically tested, allergy tested, dermatologist tested- I think you get the point! Basically, their products are made with good-for-your-skin ingredients! :)

GO GREEN!! Smashbox cares about the environment. All packaging is recyclable and made by using Sustainable Foresty Initiative (SFI) Certified paper and soy inks. Not only that, their corporate office also contributes to making our world better! They recycle, reduce waste and carpool! 

SAVE THE ANIMALS!! Don’t be fooled by the animal hair brushes! Smashbox products are cruelty-free and are never tested on the poor creatures! So no need to feel guilty every time you apply your makeup because no animals were harmed (that is if you are using Smashbox brushes...)! ;)
